Special guest Linda Fairbairn and venue this week for #nscm @journeyjottings and @CocoBruntsfield

I was excited to hear from Linda Fairbairn this week that she planned to visit Northside Coffee Mornings and to see this morning that friends have suggested meeting at Coco Chocolate which has just opened opposite the usual venue Cafe Prego.  It gives me an opportunity to blog about it here on this collaborative blog.  I wont be able to be there to meet Linda but many friends will be.

If you haven't met Linda, check out her Journey Jottings website.  She is one clever lady, and a community supporter too: just look at her beautiful tribute to the Black Dog Ride I had the privilege to participate in.

Here's Linda introducing herself:

I'll be away this week but I encourage everyone to come along, meet Linda, and enjoy the magic of coffee mornings.  Venue this week is:
Coco Chocolate
Myahgah Mews Mosman
Rear 565 Military Rd
Mosman 2088

Located directly opposite our usual venue Cafe Prego.

From 9am!  All welcome.

Cheers,
Tony Hollingsworth

Northside #coffeemornings Thursday Cafe Prego Mosman. All Welcome.

Hey there, Tony Hollingsworth here realising our collaborative blog hasnt' been updated for a while so popping in to say hi and remind everyone about this great event every Thursday in Mosman.   Originally starting at 930am every Thursday, many still arrive then but others are available earlier and have started arriving from 8am.  Usually between 8am-11am you will find friendly faces and plenty of great ideas being discussed.

Here is the location:

Here's a great video which captures the magic and atmosphere of coffee mornings.  This one was filmed at the Surry Hills coffee morning by Scott Drummond which takes place every Friday morning in Sydney.

Please drop us a comment here, or even post to this blog - it's open to everyone.  Simply email your post to " post @ nscm.posterous.com and it will land here in the blog!

Hope to see you at #nscm :-)

All welcome Northside #coffeemornings Thursdays #nscm - what's this all about again?

Friendly reminder that an informal coffee morning takes place every Thursday in Mosman at Cafe Prego, Shp2/ 573 Military Rd Mosman.
Northside Coffee Mornings is a living example of "the true spirit of sharing and collaboration" that can occur between people.   These words come from Nancy Georges who has seen her own business benefit from the serendipitous connections that are more likely to occur after a visit to coffee mornings.
If you've just landed on this post from Twitter, you've found the collaborative blog.  You're welcome to post content to it - simply email the content to post@nscm.posterous.com and Posterous will take care of the rest.
I travel from the city yet with my office is in St Leonards this coffee mornings really suits me.  I would urge any northside workers who travel from the city to consider the great bus service from Wynyard.  I must thank Paul Wallbank for suggesting this.  Rather than continuing on the train to North Sydney, get off at Wynyard, walk to Stand A on Carrington Street and grab the bus: 244, 245 or 247 to choose from.  Here's a link to the bus timetable (links to PDF file).  Its less than 20 minutes from Wynyard.

CoffeeCam: Northside Coffee Morning - 18 Mar 2010

I love the energy, the vibrancy, and the inspiration brought serendipitously by this group of people.

You'll find marketers, accountants, lawyers, entrepreneurs, government officials, advertisers, IT architects, developers, social media enthusiasts (experts?) and mavens.

Come along. You'll be engaged, awed, provoked, and maybe inspired. Definitely welcomed…

Were you at #NSCM on Thursday, 18th March 2010? If so, leave a comment

I've been missing the fantastic Guestbook posts that Tony Cosentino compiles after each #nscm. As I hadn't seen one lately, I was thinking about how to create one without having one person (no reflection on Tony) do all the work. For those who know me by now, you know I like to experiment, so here goes:

If you attended yesterday's #nscm, please leave a comment with your name and maybe mention some of the people you spoke to there.

That's it - simple. At the end, we'll know who attended by who left a comment. This will end up being one of those posts where most people read the comments more than the post itself!

If it works, maybe we can do each week. Now, was I there? Read comments...:)

Cheers, Iggy

New @Gelatomassi post: #gelatotub3 @AndrewBlanda @ge @paulwallbank @radhikar @pixel8ted @michaelharries @myriamthi @judithcantor

Another wonderful get-together of like-minded "tweeple" - our latest tweetup at @Gelatomassi brought together some familiar faces (Northside Coffee Mornings regulars) and some new ones.  I was sorry to cut the evening short (J12 had to be "rescued" from school camp - over-tired but all well now) so only took a few photos.

I've brought forward the next one to 15th April - which happens to be the night Gelatomassi features on the amazing Italian Food Safari screening on SBS

We'll try and get a big screen in the shop so we can watch it while enjoying the gelato together.

Meanwhile, follow last night's action on Twitter by viewing the Twitter stream here - we used the #gelatotub hashtag, last night was #gelatotub3 so #gelatotub4 is next.

Cheers
Tony Hollingsworth
